Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Teresa’s Bake Shop – Christmas Cookie Extravaganza – 2012

BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies are marvelous! Easy to throw together and excellent in taste. We love a soft chocolate chip cookie rather than a hard, crunchy one, and this one sure fits the bill. There are plenty of chocolate chips in every bite and if you like your chocolate chip cookie with nuts you can add them in, too.

I had quite a bit of leftover cookie dough filling from the  Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Whoopie Pies I made a few days ago so I knew I wanted to find a way to use it up elsewhere. I have a delicious dessert bar that uses chocolate chip cookie dough. (Hopefully I’ll get to posting that scrumptious recipe in the next day or so) but I didn’t have quite enough leftover cookie dough filling.

So I decided to make up this recipe for chocolate chip cookies that my niece, Heather, gave me last year. It worked perfectly and I even had some dough left over to actually make chocolate chip cookies with!

These are fabulous cookies although I make NO claim that they are the BEST chocolate chip cookies. That’s the name these cookies came with from Dora at allrecipes.com. I didn’t follow the recipe exactly but I’ll tell you where I deviated from the directions or ingredients below.

If you’re looking for a great chocolate chip cookie recipe this one will do wonderfully. The texture is wonderful and the cookies come out uniformly beautiful, elegant, and quite pleasing to the eye. BEST Chocolate Chip Cookies aren’t going to flatten out on the pan like some recipes. They hold their shape well and taste superb. Give them a try this holiday season. Ho, ho, ho!

When I initially posted this recipe in December 2012, it was the first year of my blog and I was still using an iPhone 3 for a camera. My Christmas cookie pictures were a little gaudy that year with too much stuff in the background making it difficult to see the actual cookies. Live and learn!

I recently remade this recipe (June 2015) for snacks for our church’s Vacation Bible School which was held at a local park this summer. Our Children’s director asked for 150 chocolate chip and 150 sugar cookies. I was only too happy to oblige.

Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens cookies. Add chocolate chips. If you want pecans or walnuts in your cookie this is the time to add them.
