Years ago, Michelle Bartosh, brought this to several potlucks for the Young Couple’s Sunday school class my husband taught. Michelle, who went to college with my oldest son at Dallas Baptist University, is an amazing cook.
She is especially great at baking and elegant, beautifully-decorated cookies or cookie pops. But she can also whip up a fantastic casserole, salad, bread, or anything else you desire. Michelle was always trying out new recipes and I probably acquired more recipes from her than any other class member during the eight years we were teaching that class.
Michelle and Cliff were two of those people who stood out in our Sunday school class. They always stayed to help clean up after any activity that was organized–and Michelle was such a good organizer she planned social events for our class for years. They were also the kind of people that always helped you in a pinch or in any kind of need. They were like family to us.
Besides all that they were wise and discerning beyond their years and were good judges of character, situations, life issues and just about everything else. Michelle and her family have been grieving the loss of her oldest sister in a tragic car accident a few months back so our prayers are with them. Every time I make this recipe I think fondly of Michelle and how much we enjoyed having her and Cliff in our Sunday school class.
I have no idea where Michelle got the recipe but it’s a keeper. Pistachio Fruit Fluff Salad not only looks elegant but it tastes heavenly. You and your family are sure to love this salad — and it’s so quick and easy to mix up, too. If you’re looking for a great potluck salad recipe consider trying this recipe sometime.
It will only take you about 10 minutes to put together and then refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve. You can find these ingredients anytime of the year, but this salad is especially nice for holiday meals like Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day where the weather picks up in temperature and you want a nice cool salad to accompany your meal. Our family loves Michelle’s Pistachio Fruit Fluff Salad and we believe it will become one of your favorites, too.
When I initially posted this recipe in March of 2013, I was making it for a couple who just had a baby in our church. Unfortunately, although I had recently purchased my Canon camera, I was not adept at taking pictures so I continued to use my iPhone for about 3 months afterwards! I’ve been going through all my first blog year recipes and remaking them so I can take better pictures than the first go-around.
I recently remade this recipe (May 2015) for a large potluck at our church and it got rave reviews again. Seriously, this is one of the best “fluffy”-type salads you’ll ever eat.
Pistachio Fruit Fluff Salad not only looks lovely but tastes great.
You can have this fluffy salad made up in about ten minutes!
Here’s a serving of this luscious and delightful Pistachio Fruit Fluff Salad.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Place whipped topping in a large mixing bowl. Add a box of dry pistachio pudding and pie filling mix. Stir to combine.
Add a small can of drained fruit cocktail, a can of drained mandarin orange segments. Place a bowl under your colander and press out all the juice in the can of crushed pineapple. Reserve the juice. Place drained crushed pineapple in bowl. Add marshmallows.
Slice bananas and swish around in the reserved pineapple juice to prevent browning. Add bananas to bowl.
Stir all ingredients to combine thoroughly. Refrigerate a few hours until ready to serve.
Pistachio Fruit Fluff Salad is filled with marshmallows, pineapple, fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, and bananas. It has such delightful flavors and texture.
This salad is so quick and easy to make. It’s great to take along to potlucks or to make for company. It takes only 10 minutes to make and you can spend your time on other food preparations that may be more involved and time-sensitive.
Here’s the recipe.
