Chocolate Funfetti Cookies
Chocolate Funfetti Cookies are a fun way to enjoy rainbow sprinkles along with a loads of chocolate for a chocolate lover’s delight. Last week I made up several batches of cookies for a young adult fellowship at our church. I wanted to make something quick and easy, yet tasty and something that held it’s shape well. After making Funfetti Cake Batter Cookies and Red Velvet Funfetti Cookies I decided to try my hands at some Chocolate Funfetti Cookies as well. These were wonderful!

There are lots of rainbow sprinkles in each cookie and they also have a rich, chocolaty taste. Because I used a chocolate cake mix these cookies were ready for the oven in about 5 minutes. Mine took about 12 minutes to bake. So a batch of these cookies was ready to serve in less than half an hour. I made these as a dessert for a potluck with lots of kids and they always love chocolate! These were gobbled down in no time.
If you’re looking for another way to make funfetti cookies consider making them with chocolate sometime. These cookies are terrific. I think you and your family will think so, too. The next time you are in a pinch to make a quick dessert, consider these lovely and festive cookies.
When I initially posted this recipe in March 2013, it was before I began using my Canon camera and was still using an iPhone. The pictures just weren’t as sharp as I would have liked. I’ve been remaking all those first-year blog recipes so I can get cleaner, sharper pictures.
I recently remade these cookies (February 2016) and took some fresh pictures. I thought some of the workers on the construction of our new home would enjoy these. They were extremely appreciative–and no wonder–who doesn’t love chocolate?? 🙂
Chocolate Funfetti Cookies are so easy to make. These can be ready to bake in 5 minutes!
Aren’t all these sprinkles fun?
Here’s a plate of these delicious jewels. Grab a glass of milk and they are a wonderful afternoon snack.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Pour chocolate cake mix into a mixing bowl. Add a teaspoonful of baking powder and stir into cake mix.
Add eggs, vanilla, oil and funfetti rainbow sprinkles.
Stir all ingredients together with a wooden spoon.
Scoop cookie dough with a small cookie scoop and place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake at 350 for about 12 minutes or until done. These cookies puff up quite nicely and hold their shape rather than flattening out all over the cookie sheet.
I love the ease of making these quick cookies. They can be whipped up in a jiffy.
Chocolate Funfetti Cookies are marvelous for parties, picnics, and family get-togethers.
These cookies are so delicious. Your kids will love Chocolate Funfetti Cookies with all their sprinkles.
Here’s the recipe.

Can I ask why you suggest using the Jimmies and not nonpareils?

Hi, Sarah, when I used the nonpareils they seem to dissolve into the cookie dough and change the color (especially in cookies with a yellow dough). You can try the nonpareils but they may turn the cookies a little purple.
