Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing
2013 – Gluten Free Living
Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing is the find of the century for me! I LOVED this salad dressing. It was completely different from any salad dressing I’ve made from scratch before. But I absolutely loved this Tex-Mex style dressing. And so did our company when we served it a couple of weeks ago. This dressing uses an entire batch of fresh cilantro, the juice of one lime, plain Greek yogurt, garlic, olive oil, white vinegar and a little honey and salt. The taste is amazing, especially with the salad I also featured today.

The original recipe doesn’t use any sweetener. Because I deviated from the recipe and used an entire batch of cilantro and a whole lime, the dressing was a little tart. So I added a little honey to balance out the tartness a little. If you like a really sweet dressing you can add even more than I did.
I loved the ease of this recipe. All I did was wash the cilantro, pat it dry and pull off all the leaves. I tossed that into my blender with the other ingredients, and voila! With the push of a button, the mixture was pulsed and pureed in a matter of seconds. It really didn’t take but about 10 minutes to whip up this exceptionally tasty (and healthy) salad dressing.
The flavors were all you’d expect in a Tex-Mex style salad dressing. Plus, you get the benefits of this being a really healthy, low calorie, gluten free, clean recipe. It’s also free of MSG, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup, soy and other harmful fillers. Unfortunately, most of those ingredients are found in almost all bottled salad dressings these days.
This is a spectacular and easy salad dressing to make on any kind of green salad. The flavors of Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing can’t be beat. 🙂 This dressing is so refreshing it will surely be a hit with any salad you make. Especially if you have an appetite for southwestern flavors in your food.
It goes especially well with any type of Taco Salad, Mexican Bean Taco Salad, or even Mediterranean Salads. When you want a little more oomph or spice to your recipes give this dressing a try! You’ll be very well pleased with the exotic blend of flavors this one offers.
I initially posted this recipe in October 2013. I recently remade the recipe (June 2019) and shot a few new pictures. This is still one of our favorite salads. The combination of flavors between the salad and the salad dressing is awesome.
Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing is awesome. It was sure a big hit with our guests when we served this wonderful salad and dressing a couple of weeks ago.
This salad dressing was super easy to make. It took only about ten minutes and it was done!
Here’s some of the Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing poured over the salad. This refreshing salad dressing is gluten free.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Place Greek yogurt, olive oil, white vinegar, salt, honey, garlic and lime in a blender.
Add cilantro leaves.
Blend in a blender until smooth–about 5-10 seconds.
To serve: pour Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing into a cruet of some kind and serve over top of your favorite Tex-Mex salad.
Serve with Southwestern Chopped Salad.
What a wonderful combination of flavors! This recipe makes about a cup and a half of salad dressing.
Creamy Cilantro Lime Dressing can be served over any kind of salad. But it’s especially nice over Tex-Mex salads.
Here’s the recipe.
