I’m always looking for healthy alternatives to sugar, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, and other fillers. This is especially true when it comes to salad dressings because I eat so much salad. I retooled a homemade salad dressing from my Winter Fruit Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing to get this delightful and flavorful salad dressing. This salad dressing has no oil and no sugar. Instead, I substitute Greek yogurt for the oil and maple syrup for the sugar.
For those of you looking for healthy salad dressing possibilities, consider Maple Poppy Seed Dressing sometime. It goes wonderfully with my Spinach and Fruit Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing recipe. (See pictures below). Or any green salad that has a lot of fruit and nuts in it. And, it has a lot less calories than salad dressings made with sugar, honey, or high fructose corn syrup. Enjoy.
I recently remade this recipe when I remade the Spinach and Fruit Salad recipe (June 2019). I snapped a few new pictures too. This is a terrific salad dressing especially if you’re looking for healthy and gluten free.
Maple Poppy Seed Dressing has NO oil and NO sugar!
Here’s what Maple Poppy Seed Dressing looks like on top of Spinach and Fruit Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing.
For those of you who are health conscious, Maple Poppy Seed Dressing is a great alternative to store bought dressings loaded with sugar, high fructose corn syrup, MSG, soy fillers, and preservatives.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Measure Greek yogurt and add to blender. Add diced green onion, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, pink Himalayan sea salt and lemon juice.
Add maple syrup.
Blend in your blender until smooth.
To serve: Pour into a salad dispenser or cruet and serve over your favorite salad.
Doesn’t this salad and dressing look scrumptious?
You can make the dressing thicker if you desire. Just increase the Greek yogurt. I thought it had a good consistency with these amounts.
Here’s the recipe.
