Chocolate lovers will certainly have every sweet tooth satisfied after a bite of these luscious cookies. They’re not overly difficult either. I highly recommend them any time of the year for chocolate snacks. But they are exceptionally nice for Christmas cookie baking, tailgating parties, potlucks, and special occasions.
My husband recently took a tray of these sensational cookies in for a meeting at his office. All the guys in that meeting loved them. I’ve already had them–and their wives–asking for the recipe. So I figured I’d better get these yummy cookies posted, pronto! I recently was looking through my recipe books trying to find some tasty goodies to make for John’s meeting. I came across a recipe I had clipped off the back of an H-E-B chocolate chip package some time ago.
Those who follow my blog know how much I enjoy trying recipes from the back of boxes. And, almost without fail, they always turn out great. I gave the recipe a try and Texas Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies were a wonderful result. I loved the chocolaty flavor and I think you will too.

I initially posted this recipe in March 2014. I recently remade these cookies (October 2019) for a youth discipleship weekend at our church. These cookies went to host home with six middle school age girls. I heard they demolished these cookies and could not get enough of them.
These lovely Texas Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies are wonderful. They’re perfect for a Christmas Cookie Exchange or sharing with friends and co-workers during the holiday season. I hope you give ’em a try. 🙂

We have already had several requests for the recipe for these delicious cookies!
Chocolate lovers will love these rich, chocolaty cookies.
Prepare yourself for a chocolate sensation!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Place softened butter, cocoa, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Add baking soda and salt.
Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.
Stir in UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. (Bleached flour toughens baked goods). Add chocolate chips and pecans.
Stir with a wooden spoon until combined.
Roll cookie dough into balls and place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 until cookies are done. Rotate cookies on racks every six minutes while baking.

They really are great in chocolate chip cookies. I have several chocolate chip recipes that have nuts. These are especially good. Thanks so much for stopping by!
