Creamy Grape Salad

Creamy Grape Salad is spectacular. This is one of the most fantastic fruit salads ever. Who would have thought that a salad made with mostly grapes would be so wonderful? It sure is. This lovely salad uses both green and red grapes in a cream cheese sauce made with sugar, vanilla and sour cream. Then it’s topped with sprinkles of brown sugar and finely diced pecans for a little extra crunch that’s dynamite.

Last month I wanted to have a celebratory lunch at our house before we started packing up everything into boxes. We invited our entire Sunday school class over and had several takers. It was the last weekend before we were going to start packing full time as we sold our house and were getting ready to move out.

We had lots of good food including several kinds of sliders and a scrumptious Bruschetta Pasta Salad. But hands down, this was my favorite (and I love sliders!). The creamy texture and sweetness of the recipe made this taste more like a dessert than a salad. Maybe that’s why it was my personal favorite.

I have to admit, when I first thought of making a “grape salad,” I said to myself, “seriously?” How can a salad with just grapes be so good? Well, this one certainly is. Grapes and pecans mixed in a creamy cream cheese/sour cream sauce with a dab of brown sugar and a sprinkle of vanilla is just what the doctor ordered! No kidding. Creamy Grape Salad is terrific. It’s certainly worthy of any company dinner, but if you’re like me and love creamy fruit salads, you may want to whip up a smaller batch just for your family. On the other hand, Labor Day weekend is coming up in a few weeks. Consider putting this sensational salad on the menu!

Do you put the grapes in whole or slice them in half?
