Do you want a heavenly cookie? Cherry Cobbler Cookies. Yes, these delicious cookies are just about irresistible. These cookies include tart cherry Greek yogurt along with fresh cherries in the batter. They cooked up big and beautiful and the taste was awesome.
Several years ago I made a batch of Peach Cobbler Cookies. Those turned out so well, I thought I’d try my hand at a cherry version, too. Yes, a hundred times, YES! These cookies had great texture and taste. I baked mine about 22 minutes and they were still pretty soft. If you want a crunchier cookie, you may want to bake them longer. Quite frankly, I thought they were perfect.
At the end of June I received a large 20-pound box of fresh cherries from the Northwest Cherry Growers in Washington State. They provided free cherries and asked me to blog about it. (I received no other compensation). The cherries were definitely some of the largest, plumpest, juiciest, most delicious cherries we have ever seen or eaten. We loved them. I made ten different desserts with all those cherries. Everyone one of them turned out fantastic.
If you’re looking for a delightful way to use fresh cherries in a recipe, give these Cherry Cobbler Cookies a try. I used a one-quarter cup scoop so my cookies were on the larger side. Believe me, one or two of them with coffee, tea or milk will have you in your happy place. 🙂 Enjoy.
Cherry Cobbler Cookies are so mouthwatering. I loved tasting all the little pieces of cherries in them.
These cookies are terrific for potlucks and backyard barbecues during the summer when fresh cherries are in season.
These delectable cookies will have your mouth watering after the first bite.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. Note this recipe does not use eggs.
Stir Greek yogurt so the fruit on the bottom is blended into the plain Greek yogurt on top.
Melt butter. Add cherry Greek yogurt.
Add sugar, almond extract, vanilla extract, baking soda and salt.
Whisk ingredients until smooth.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Pit and dice cherries. Pat dry with a paper towel before adding to mixture.
Stir ingredients with a wooden spoon to combine.
Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray. Using a one-quarter cup scoop, scoop dough and place on prepared cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 for 18-20 minutes or until cookies are set. (Mine took 22 minutes).
Cherry Cobbler Cookies are sure to have you swooning!
These cookies are totally satisfying.
