Cream Cheese Danish Pastry

Teresa Ambra

Cream Cheese Danish Pastry is a rich, decadent breakfast pastry that your family will love and your company will be overjoyed that you shared with them. It’s also very quick and easy to put together. Luscious cream cheese filling in between crescent rolls with a satisfying powdered sugar icing makes this one of the most spectacular recipes you will ever taste.

I was given this recipe about 12 years ago–long before the Sopapilla Cheesecake craze, but it is very similar to that in taste–minus the cinnamon-sugar topping. I got this recipe from a coworker, Sharon Cofield, when we worked next to each other at the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

She provided a going-away brunch for me as I was leaving that job and getting ready to start work at Dallas Baptist University in May 2000 so I could help get my kids through college. Everything Sharon made that day was fantastic and I got 3 of the recipes and still use them. But this one is the one that gets the most service! You’ll see why when you choose to make it.

If you’re looking for a fantastic holiday breakfast entree, then please consider Cream Cheese Danish Pastry. It’s ooey, gooey and delicious!

When I initially posted this recipe in July 2012, I had only been blogging for a month. My pictures were taken with a cheap iPhone 3 and were less than pleasing even if the staging was okay. As a result of the poor quality of my first year blog pictures, I’ve been remaking all those recipes and retaking pictures so they are more pleasing and enjoyable to look at.

I recently remade this recipe (September 2015) for a large brunch we were serving our Sunday school class and it went over extremely well. It was so well received that almost all of it was eaten that morning and we had tons of food there that day. Try it, and you’ll see why it will be gobbled up quickly.
