Grilled Peppered Steaks
2013 – Gluten Free Living
Oh, these Grilled Peppered Steaks were fantastic! This 5-ingredient recipe is really quite simple. Combine a few seasonings and rub them into the steaks. Then grill them to your preference of doneness! There was nothing time-consuming or difficult about this recipe, but it was absolutely irresistible!

Grilled Peppered Steaks have a rub of garlic salt, onion salt, paprika and black pepper that is almost beyond easy. Yet, these seasonings were very effective in flavoring the steaks to perfection. Not only that, this recipe is healthy, low calorie and gluten free.
I’ve been gradually going through my freezers and pantry trying to get rid of excess stuff. I pulled these steaks out of the freezer a couple of weeks ago and decided to use them up. They were an excellent choice for a main dish to go along with my Spaghetti Squash and Salsa posted yesterday.
I started looking through Taste of Home’s website to see if I could find a new way to serve steaks and found this recipe and decided to give it a whirl. I had the rub made for these steaks, and the steaks on the grill in about 3 minutes! I love grilled foods so this quick and easy recipe was a win-win for me.
If you’re looking for a tasty way to prepare steaks, consider Grilled Peppered Steaks sometime. I thought these steaks were marvelous. I certainly recommend them to you the next time you want to make a quick steak dinner. Add some fruit and a tossed salad and you can have a very low calorie but tasty dinner meal.
I initially posted this recipe in August 2013. I was still very new at using my new Canon camera then. The pictures were really less than satisfying. I polished off this recipe a few weeks ago (March 2020) during the Corona Virus outbreak. I actually made it twice. The first time, we grilled sweet potatoes and eggplant with the steaks. The second time I served it with Creamy Spinach Gratin. On both occasions we were licking our chops and drooling from the first bite. 🙂
Grilled Peppered Steaks are extraordinary. I liked this incredibly easy way to prepare steaks.
The first time, I served the steaks with a side of Spaghetti Squash with Salsa and fruit. The second time I served it with Grilled Sweet Potatoes and Eggplant. The third time I served it with Creamy Spinach Gratin. All three ways were spectacular.
Here’s a close up so you can see the texture of the steak. You can see the “rub,” or the seasonings that I rubbed into the steaks before grilling.
Grilled Peppered Steaks are gluten free for those with gluten intolerance.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Place the spices/seasonings on a dinner plate.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Dredge steaks in pepper mixture.
Coat both sides well.
I had four really thick steaks. It was just enough dry rub for the steaks.
Spray grill with cooking spray. Place your steaks on the grill and grill over high heat, covered, about 5-10 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the meat and how done you want your steaks. Here, we’ve added sliced sweet potatoes and sliced eggplant.
Turn steaks over and grill the other side about the same amount of time.
These steaks cooked up nice and juicy. We had no need for A-1 sauce or any other steak sauce.
This is such a quick and easy week night dinner menu.
Grilled Peppered Steaks is such a wonderful main dish entree. It hardly takes any time at all to prepare.
This is a terrific recipe for tailgating parties or when you’re grilling out with friends or family.
Here’s the recipe.
