Chocolate Fudge Cake
Oh my goodness, Chocolate Fudge Cake is heavenly. Really. This incredibly easy Chocolate Cake includes a chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding, sour cream, heavy whipping cream and a bag of chocolate chips. It’s chocolaty, fudgy and so amazingly wonderful that you won’t be able to stop shoveling it down! 🙂

Chocolate Cake has always been one of my favorite desserts. Mom used to make a Chocolate Layer Cake with a rich Fudge Frosting for every birthday. I have a similar Texas Sheet Cake recipe. I also have a Chocolate Chunk Bundt Cake, a Chocolate Buttermallow Cake (with an amazing caramel topping and marshmallow icing), a Turtle Cake (an all-time favorite), a Chocolate Chip Cake, a Chocolate Butter Pecan Pound Cake and, of course, my famous Earthquake Cake. Did I say I luvvvvv Chocolate Cake??? 🙂
A friend in our former care group used to make this dessert almost every time I needed one for a potluck or party we were having. Everyone always raved over it. It was probably the third or fourth time she made this cake that I actually tried a slice (slathered with a bowl of whipped cream)! Oh, yeah, it was so terrific I asked her for the recipe. Whether you serve the cake plain, ala mode or with whipped cream or whipped topping, it’s divine any way you serve it.
The cake is rich enough that it doesn’t need any frosting although I sprinkled it with powdered sugar. I served this for our care group one night in May for a combination birthday cake and an anniversary cake since we had a birthday and an anniversary on that night. It went over big with a few dollops of Blue Bell ice cream.
My oldest son gave me a couple of the coolest looking bundt pans for Mother’s Day. So I’ve been enjoying making all kinds of goodies in them. I love the swirls. 🙂 If you’re looking for a terrific (yet very easy) dessert to make for your next potluck, backyard barbecue or holiday party this is one that will surely please every chocolate lover.
Chocolate Fudge Cake is irresistible.
This delicious cake is perfect dessert for holidays.
If you enjoy fudge, you’ll love this fudgy cake.
Chocolate Fudge Cake is wonderful served ala mode.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
My oldest son bought me a couple of really cute bundt pans for Mother’s Day. This is the inside of the bundt pan.
This is the outside of the bundt pan.
When working with bundt pans, you MUST generously grease and flour them before baking. Be sure to get oil, shortening or butter in every single crease – even the tube. Slather it on!
Generously flour the pan, too. Make sure the tube gets covered. Tilt the pan over and over until flour covers the bottom, sides and tube of pan. Set aside.
Place cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, whipping cream, canola oil and chocolate chips in a mixing bowl.
Beat ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Pour chocolate batter into greased and floured bundt pan. Smooth the top.
Bake at 350 for 45-55 minutes until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
After cake cools completely, invert bundt pan onto serving plate. I used a paper towel to gently remove any excess flour in the creases.
Sprinkle cake with powdered sugar before serving.
This lovely cake is so moist and chocolaty.
Top with ice cream, whipped cream or whipped topping for the perfect all-occasion dessert.
Chocolate Fudge Cake is divine.
Here’s the recipe.

It looks delicious. Here’s a tip. Dust the pan with cocoa powder instead of flour and you won’t have to worry about white on the cake!
