These delicious cookies start with my favorite Mrs. Field’s copycat recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies. But instead of using all chocolate chips, I also added a package of Butterfinger Baking Bits! Oh yeah. Talk about terrific. These cookies have it all. They have just a little bit of peanut butter and a lot of chocolate. What a delight!
John and I baked up cookies for our neighborhood this year – just under 160 homes. We included a baker’s dozen of different cookies, plus a copy of the Christmas Code. It’s a wonderful devotional book for Christmas time on the story and meaning of Christmas. So I’ve been baking, baking, baking for two weeks straight! Every day. All hours of the day. Yes, I’m tired….:)
These amazing cookies went in the bags for our neighbors. But I also made enough extras to add to our regular gift giving for our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza this year too. That “naughty or nice” list includes co-workers, family, friends, church friends and folks in our Friday night care group. We’ve already had people contact us from a former church who were wondering if they made the “nice” list this year. 🙂 Alas! We cannot bake for everyone and I have to cut down somewhere. 🙁
When you’re baking 250-300 cookies of 15-20 different kinds of cookies it becomes a production. Plus, we bag, seal and label every cookie so that adds a good bit of time. I’ve included three different cookies this year that are gluten free, but this is NOT one of them. Yes, we love this time of year and after this coming week is over I finally get to relax. Yay.
If you’re looking for a cookie to wow your friends this holiday season, give these luscious Butterfinger Chocolate Chip Cookies a try. Everyone will be drooling. And you’ll have to make a few extra batches….;)
Butterfinger Chocolate Chip Cookies are loaded with Butterfinger Baking Bits and chocolate chips.
These cookies are perfect for holiday parties.
Butterfinger Chocolate Chip Cookies will make you salivate over every bite!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Soften butter. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs, baking soda, baking powder, sea salt and real vanilla extract.
Cream with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. (Bleached flour toughens baked goods). Add a bag of Butterfinger Baking Bits and chocolate chips.
Stir with a spoon top combine.
Roll mixture into balls and place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake at 350 about 13-15 minutes or until done. I was baking four racks at a time with 24 cookies per cookie sheet, so my cookies took about 20-24 minutes to bake completely. I rotated the racks every eight minutes.
Butterfinger Chocolate Chip Cookies are terrific for Christmas Cookie Exchanges. Everyone will want to eat their cookie right away!
If you love Butterfingers, prepare to start drooling!

I don’t understand what you mean by rotating every 8 minutes. If you are only baking one tray at a time do you still have to rotate and move them exactly where. I bake everything in the Center rack so again not too sure what you mean.

Hi Gail. I usually use two cookie sheets to bake a batch of cookies. Although they go in the center of the oven, I rotate the racks so the bottom rack of cookies is moved to the top and vice versa.

Hi, Sharon. I would substitute chopped Butterfinger bars. A little more work, but still the same delicious taste.
