Sprinkle Cookies
Sprinkle Cookies are awesome. They start with my favorite Sugar Cookie recipe. Then I add sprinkles to the batter and rolled the cookies in sprinkles. They are triple yummy cookies. Truly. The nice thing about Sprinkle Cookies is you can make them any time of the year. Use the orange and black sprinkles for Halloween, pastel sprinkles for Easter and Red & Blue sprinkles for the Fourth of July!

I made Sprinkle Cookies for my son and his wife to take to their respective offices for the holidays. I added a few other cookies as well. I gave them each a large platter of cookies on Christmas day to take to work after the holidays. I had planned to get something to them sooner. Unfortunately, they came down with severe colds so we didn’t get to connect before that. I don’t think anyone at their offices minded having cookies after the holidays though. 🙂 I made a chocolate version that’s also wonderful.
Sprinkle Cookies are terrific for tailgating parties, backyard barbecues, potlucks and certainly for baby showers. You can use all blue or all pink sprinkles if you prefer for baby showers. These cookies are so good you won’t want to wait simply for a holiday to make them. These kid-friendly cookies should be made and kept in your cookie jar continuously. That way your kids you always have a delicious treat to come home to. Enjoy.
I loved the way Sprinkle Cookies turned out.
Who can resist cookies made with funfetti sprinkles?
Sprinkle Cookies are perfect for tailgating parties.
They’re also good for all the holidays throughout the year.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. I also used a few more different kinds of sprinkles.
Place softened butter in a mixing bowl. Add sugar, powdered sugar, eggs, vanilla, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Cream of with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add oil.
Mix again until silky smooth.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add sprinkles.
I do not recommend adding dark sprinkles here: ones that are heavily blue and purple. They will color the dough a sickening brownish-lavender color that’s not appealing.
Stir ingredients with a heavy spoon until well combined.
Roll dough into balls. Then roll balls in more sprinkles.
Place rolled cookies on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until done. (My cookies took 22-24 minutes to bake completely).
Serve Sprinkle Cookies for potlucks or backyard barbecues.
Sprinkle Cookies are kid-friendly. Everyone loves ’em.
Believe me, I could have eaten a stack of these cookies all day long. Just keep ’em coming. 🙂
Sprinkles make everything better. 🙂
Change up the color of the sprinkles depending on what holiday or occasion you’re baking for.
Here’s the recipe.
