This is the last of my cookie and pie recipes that I made with leftover Halloween candy last year. I made 8 different cookies. Those included Baby Ruth, Butterfinger Candy Bar, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Snickers, Snickers Crisper, Snickers Peanut Butter, Twix Candy Bar and these jewels. I also made 9 different pies! Those included Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Milky Way, Twix Candy Bar, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, Snicker Bar, Almond Joy and Nestle’s Crunch.
Oh my, everything turned out so delicious. I have to admit that I was partial to the pies, however. They were all so mouthwateringly good that I had a hard time staying out of them. But whether I made cookies or pies, everything was well loved and devoured. 🙂
My husband brought home enough candy after Halloween to fill a 55-gallon trash can! I was chopping candy for days….at least it seemed that way. I made almost everything the last couple of weeks in November. I sent out pie after pie to John’s office where they inhaled them in no time. Most of the cookies were made for our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza. But I took several hundred to our church’s Christmas celebration for our town. I also included several hundred that were packed away in containers and disbursed to friends John works with in December and January.
I stopped cooking on the 13th of December and didn’t cook again until after the New Year. A record for me. Yes, I took some time off to recover. But now I am back in the saddle and happily cooking away in my kitchen again. 🙂
Snickers Almond Cookies are a great treat for those with peanut allergies. You still get that great Snickers taste, but with chocolate and almonds. No peanut butter. They’re ooey, gooey and outrageously good. But a treat for those who can’t do peanuts.
I recommend these fantastic cookies for tailgating parties, potlucks or even summer holiday fun and family reunions. These whopper-sized cookies will satisfy any sweet tooth craving. Plus, you may even find they turn into your comfort food of choice. Yay.
Snickers Almond Cookies are heavenly.
These cookies are filled with chocolate and almonds. Oh yeah!
If you enjoy Snickers Bars, you’ll love these cookies.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Soften butter and place in large mixing bowl. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt.
Mix ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens baked goods. Add chopped Snickers Almond Bars.
Stir ingredients very thoroughly with a heavy metal spoon to combine.
Scoop dough with a one-quarter cup cookie scoop. Press the dough firmly into the scoop.
Place dough on greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 for 13-15 minutes or until done. Rotate cookies on racks every six minutes during cookie time. I had three racks baking at once. My cookies took about 18 minutes to bake completely.
Load cookies up on a tray and serve!
Each cookie is loaded with chocolate and almonds. These cookies will surely satisfy and sweet tooth craving!
