Our neighbor across the street had her third child in late September. I offered to bring them a meal and they gladly accepted. Her husband had driven John to Day Neuro several times during his 16 week ordeal in rehab. We were happy to be able to do something for them after they had done so much to help us.
I served this entree with a Broccoli Au Gratin, some homemade bread, my favorite Corn Pudding recipe and a Cherry Texas Sheet Cake. They had a whole houseful of family there when I delivered the food, but I’m sure there was enough for everyone to eat. Yes, I always make plenty. (Sheepish grin).
I chose Tortellini Marinara because they have younger children, so I thought it would be better to serve something not overly spicy. They eat just about everything, but I felt this entree would surely please their whole family. If you enjoy tortellini, marinara sauce, cheese and Italian sausage, you’ll absolutely love this tasty main dish. Whether you have it for family or company dinners, everyone will want seconds. 🙂
Tortellini Marinara is a scrumptious 6-ingredient recipe!
We served Tortellini Marinara with Broccoli Au Gratin.
You’ll enjoy every bite of this delicious Italian entree.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Boil tortellini in boiling water according to package directions.
Drain. Set aside.
Meanwhile, as pasta is cooking, fry Italian sausage. Drain any grease.
Add marinara sauce.
Add sliced mushrooms and cook about 10 minutes, until mushrooms are tender.
Add cooked tortellini and stir into sauce gently so tortellini doesn’t tear.
Add cheese. Remove from heat and allow cheese to melt. This will take about 5 minutes.
Serve straight from the skillet!
Tortellini Marinara can be whipped up in about 30 minutes. It’s marvelous for a weeknight dinner when you’re short on time.
