Christmas Cookies

This massive collection of Christmas Cookies includes over 250 different recipes for you to try out for Christmas. Some of these include different candy bars like Reese’s Cups, Butterfingers, Snickers Bars & M&Ms. Others are a take off on chocolate chip or chocolate cookies. Some are lemon, others are Thumbprint, Red Velvet, Sugar, Peanut Butter, Pumpkin, Funfetti, Ginger, Date or Cranberry. The point being–I have a lot of variety.

My husband and I have been baking cookies for friends and family since the first year we married. At the time, we were heavily in debt (due to misspending) and could not afford to give our family anything else for Christmas that first year. The second year my husband asked me to make cookies again but this time include many of his co-workers.

That began a 40+ years journey of our Christmas Cookie Extravaganza. There have been a few years we’ve missed or did something else. One year I made bundt cakes (I was 6 months pregnant and did not want to be on my feet for days on end baking cookies 🙁 ). Another year I made homemade jams and preserves. This year we’re actually going to make breads and tea cakes in miniature bundt pans.

It is a labor of love and I’ve collected a LOT of recipes over the years. In the early 2000s, John started giving out cookies anytime he was out on the road making visits. It seems like I was always baking cookies, brownies or bars for him to take somewhere.

When we’ve baked cookies for the Christmas holidays, I never wanted to have too much of this or too much of that. Some people don’t like chocolate (believe it or not)! Others can’t eat nuts or are gluten free. For this reason we always tried to make up a wide variety of cookies with different fruits, textures and tastes.

This collection of over 250 recipes of Christmas Cookies also includes a few (very few) bars. They were just too good to pass up since most are Christmas themed. Enjoy your holiday baking this year by trying out one or two of these lovely cookies (or MORE, if you’re so inclined). 🙂
