I made this fabulous dessert back in early May. Neighbors had us over for dinner and they asked me to bring a dessert. I actually made two of these desserts. One in the trifle dish for dinner with our neighbors and one in a baking dish to take to a church picnic. This dessert was loved and raved over by all! The hardest thing was to find raspberry pie filling! I finally had to order it on Amazon since none of the grocery stores were stocking it at that time of the year.
Raspberry Angel Trifle uses raspberry pie filling, an angel food cake (cut up into cubes), cream cheese, cool whip and a little powdered sugar. That’s it. You can add fresh raspberries to decorate the top if you desire, but you certainly don’t have to. This elegant, festive and beautiful dessert will look like you’ve been working for hours to make it, yet it’s so quick and easy.
Everyone will ooooh and aaaahhhh over this amazing Raspberry-flavored dessert. Try it for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries or other special occasions and your Raspberry Angel Trifle will be the hit of the party! And you can take that to the bank!
Raspberry Angel Trifle is a beautiful, festive and elegant dessert for Christmas, Valentine’s Day or other special occasions.
You can make it in a trifle dish, parfait dishes or a baking dish.
Everyone loved this dessert at our church picnic! The whole pan was cleaned out in no time.
My husband enjoyed several servings of this dessert. We had leftovers since there was only four of us eating out of that large trifle dish!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. The fresh raspberries are optional.
Cut the angel food cake up into cubes; set aside.
Soften cream cheese and add it to a mixing bowl with powdered sugar.
Mix with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Add Angel Food Cake cubes and half of the Cool Whip.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Place half of the Angel Food Cake mixture into a trifle dish.
Spoon one can of raspberry pie filling over top of the Angel Food Cake cube mixture.
Spoon remaining Angel Food Cake cube mixture over top of raspberry pie filling.
Add second can of raspberry pie filling over top.
Spoon Cool Whip over the center of the trifle leaving a two-inch border around the edge.
If you’re going to use fresh raspberries to decorate the top, wash gently in colander.
Pat the raspberries dry (very gently) between layers of paper towels.
Add fresh raspberries and mint on top of the Cool Whip, if desired.
If you make the dessert in a baking dish, spoon all of the Angel Food Cake cube mixture into the baking dish.
Spoon two cans of raspberry pie filling over top; add Cool Whip in the center (leaving a border around the edge) and top with fresh raspberries, and mint, if desired.
You can also fill individual parfait dishes, if desired.
Raspberry Angel Trifle is absolutely delightful. This amazing dessert will rock your world!
Every spoonful just melts in your mouth. Truly, this is an exceptionally good dessert for special occasion dinners.
Whether you make this dessert in a trifle dish, individual parfait dishes or a baking dish, everyone will love it and want MORE!
