Marinated New York Strip Steaks
Gluten Free Living – 2025
I love a good steak. In fact, beef is probably my favorite meat. So I’m always looking for good steak recipes….especially for the grill! I found this recipe and thought I would give it a shot. Except for the steaks (which I had in my freezer), all the remaining ingredients are items I keep in my pantry all the time. So this was pretty easy–no extra shopping for odd or expensive ingredients.

I made two minor changes to the recipe. I reduced both the amount of soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. I thought the amounts seemed excessive. I was glad later that I had done so because the steaks had plenty of soy and Worcestershire taste without needing more. Plus, it allowed me to cut down on the sodium a little bit. Do remember that the marinade is discarded before grilling so you won’t end up with quite as many calories or sodium as listed on the recipe card. 🙂
Marinated New York Strip Steaks can be served with any sides. I ended up pairing the steaks with Sweet Potato Fries and Sautéed Red Cabbage. But you can certainly enjoy these steaks with baked potatoes and a salad if that’s your preference. Enjoy.

Marinated New York Strip Steaks turned out quite delicious.

There is enough marinade for 6-8 steaks if you have that many to grill.

I served the meal with Sweet Potato Fries and Sautéed Red Cabbage.
Here’s what I did.

I used these ingredients. However, I swapped out the white vinegar for white wine vinegar and the Heinz Worcestershire sauce for Lea and Perrin’s to keep the recipe gluten free.

Chop onion and garlic and place in a mixing bowl.

Add parsley, thyme, Italian seasoning and ground black pepper.

Stir to combine.

Add honey Dijon mustard and lemon juice.

Add white wine vinegar.

Add Worcestershire sauce and a low sodium soy sauce.

Stir ingredients to combine.

Place steaks in a jumbo-sized ziplock bag.

Add marinade. Seal Bag and flip several times to get good coverage. Place on a cookie sheet pan and refrigerate over night (or at least 8 hours).

Remove from zip lock bag and pour off most of the marinade.

Place on grill and cook over medium heat (covered).

Turn steaks over and grill remaining side until steaks are done to desired doneness (rare, medium rare, medium or medium well).

Remove steaks to a serving platter and serve.

Add your favorite sides and enjoy.

Marinated New York Strip Steaks are gluten free if you make sure your soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce are both gluten free.

This is a terrific recipe for grilling out with friends.
Here’s the recipe.
