Oatmeal Kisses
Oatmeal Kisses are terrific oatmeal cookies! They have a sprinkle of cinnamon in them to add wonderful flavor then a Hershey’s Kiss is pressed into the center of the cookie about five minutes before the cookie is finished baking. Oatmeal and chocolate and cinnamon. Wow! You will love this amazing cookie.

It’s so quick and easy to throw together, too. You can have this cookie ready to go into the oven in about 5-10 minutes. You can have the cookies baked, cooled and ready to eat in about half an hour. Yeah, I can do quick and easy! This fabulous cookie gives me the convenience of not taking all day to prepare a great dessert as well as providing an incredibly great taste.
I haven’t made this cookie in quite some time. But I still had some leftover Hershey’s Kisses from Christmas so I wanted to find some recipes to get rid of some more of them and get them out of the house! I remembered this recipe and made a half batch. They turned out incredibly well.
This is a great cookie to make for afternoon school snacks, office parties, or even holiday baking. It’s pretty simple and just so easy. If you’re looking for another good oatmeal cookie recipe – with chocolate – you ought to consider giving this recipe a try. It’s also a great way to use up holiday candy, too. You will love these jewels. We love this great oatmeal cookie and think your family would enjoy sampling them as well.
When I initially published this recipe in January 2013 I was still using an iPhone for a camera. The pictures while okay, were still not as clear as I would have liked. I recently remade this recipe (August 2016) to serve at an Open House I was hosting for friends who were selling their house and had moved to Florida. Everyone who came through the house loved these jewels.
Oatmeal Kisses are a wonderful cookie to bake for the holidays.
Cinnamon, oatmeal, chocolate kisses. Yum!
These are great for afternoon snacks with a tall glass of cold milk! Once you start eating these jewels it’s hard to stop!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Soften butter. Add sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, an egg and salt.
Mix all the ingredients together with an electric mixer or a whisk.
Add UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour. Bleached flour toughens cookies. Add oatmeal.
Stir ingredients together with a wooden spoon.
Shape into balls and place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Unwrap candies and set aside.
Bake at 350 for about 8-10 minutes. Remove cookies from oven and place an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss in the center of each cookie. Press down into the ball of cookie dough but NOT all the way to the bottom or the chocolate will scorch on the bottom.
Bake cookies an additional 5 minutes to soften the Hershey’s Kisses.
We love these delightful goodies. We think you will too.
It’s so hard to believe that something that looks so pretty is so incredibly easy to throw together!
Your family will love these tasty treats. Your friends and family will think you spent so much time making these adorable treats. You don’t have to let on that they were made, baked and ready to serve in less than an hour!
Oatmeal Kisses are delectable.

Great easy recipe. Came together very easy. I didn’t have the chocolate kisses but still a great cookie.

*update*. My husband had the idea to sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on the cookies about 5 minutes or so before they are done. Just to sweeten them up a bit. They taste amazing and everyone loves them. I also cooked them on two 9×13 pans turned upside down. Still used aluminum foil and cooking spray. This recipe is gonna be in the baking rotation! Thanks for posting it.

Hi, Vanessa. Yes I’m sure those would be great, although I would probably add some cinnamon chips or chocolate chips to the batter. 🙂

What a great combination. I think the cinnamon would give it some extra, in a good way of course. I had to pin this one.

Wow, and I thought your peanut butter blossoms were amazing – oatmeal is my all time favourite cookie!! Once again your photos are fantastic – so great my mouth is watering! I’ll be seeing these darlings in my sleep tonight and baking them on my day off Friday!
Just wondering – what are your thoughts on freezing the cookies? Is it best to do after they’ve been baked or better to freeze the dough for later baking? Thanks for sharing!

I’m glad you like the cookies! And thanks for such kind words about the photos. I’m not a professional photographer by any stretch of the word but I’m trying to get better!
I’m not sure about freezing the dough. I would bake them and then freeze them. Pack them carefully so that you don’t break the tips off the Hershey’s Kisses. I usually place waxed paper between layers. If you place on trays wrap really well with a plastic wrap (a couple of layers). I froze all my cookies from Christmas baking except 2 of them (those I kept in the frig because I was going to use them in a day or so). Most cookies or brownies freeze really well for a month or two. Once you get longer than that they tend to dry out and they can absorb the smells of other things in your freezer. Yikes! Hope this helps.
