Southwestern Dip
Gluten Free Living – 2022
I love a good Tex-Mex dip, and this fantastic Southwestern Dip sure fits the bill. The recipe is fairly straightforward and simple. It includes diced green chilies, onion, chili with beans, diced tomatoes, Tabasco sauce and Monterey Jack cheese. Everything is mixed together and heated in the oven before serving with Tortilla chips or Fritos. Easy and delicious.

Back in March, I had our Bible study group over to our house one Thursday night. I through together my favorite Georgia Chili, Easy No Knead Dinner Rolls and this lovely dip as an appetizer. Others brought salads, fruit and dessert. It was a lip-smacking meal everyone savored. I especially enjoyed the Southwestern Dip since it was the first time I tried it.
When we lived south of the Metroplex a few years ago, John helped one of the gals in our neighborhood with computer issues. She invited us over for dinner as a thank you. Linda is a spectacular Cajun cook and had printed her own cookbook. She allowed me to look through it so I copied down a few hundred of her favorite recipes. This Southwestern Dip was one of them. I’ve featured at least ten of her recipes on this blog and not one has been a fail. All of her recipes have been fabulous.
This easy appetizer is wonderful for any kind of party where you’re entertaining. I recommend it for tailgating or office parties, potlucks or even summer holidays like Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July or Labor Day. If you’re having extended family over for dinner, this is a really fun appetizer to whip up quickly and add to the menu.
If you enjoy Tex-Mex recipes and especially appetizers, this awesome Southwestern Dip is sure to please. Everyone. No kidding. 🙂
Southwestern Dip is awesome.
Every bite will knock your socks off!
This delicious dip is baked in the oven before serving. It‘s absolutely wonderful.
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Drain tomatoes. Place diced tomatoes in a mixing bowl. Mash them slightly with a potato masher or fork. Add diced green chilies, chili with beans and diced onions.
Add Monterey Jack cheese and Tabasco sauce.
Stir ingredients to combine.
Grease a 10-inch round or oval baking dish. Pour ingredients into greased baking dish.
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven.
Top with diced green onions.
Serve with Tortilla Chips or Fritos.
Southwestern Dip is a spectacular Tex-Mex appetizer.
