We had some new neighbors move in during the summer. John met them a day or two before the moving trucks were supposed to arrive. We offered to bring them a meal the day they moved in. I whipped up a Ravioli Lasagna, Rapid Rise Italian Herb Bread, a Tossed Salad, watermelon and this delicious dessert.
There was enough food for a few days! But they raved and raved over the dessert. They’ve had the Ooey Gooey Bars before but they felt this recipe was on another level. (It really is!) This gooey bar-type cookie includes a layer of cream cheese in the center which makes it extra rich anyway. Adding the Heath English Toffee Bits makes it absolutely heavenly.
This dessert is terrific for tailgating parties, potlucks and certainly a great idea for holiday baking and Christmas Cookie Exchanges. If you enjoy Heath Toffee, this will become a fave recipe after the first swoon-worthy bite! In fact, everyone will want seconds. 🙂
Heath Toffee Ooey Gooey Bars are sensational.
Be prepared for an earth-shattering experience when you sink your teeth into these jewels!
Every bite is outrageously good.
Heath English Toffee Bits make these Ooey Gooey Bars a cut above the normal, drool-worthy bar!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients.
Melt butter in a mixing bowl.
Add one egg and cake mix.
Stir ingredients with a fork to combine.
Spread crust mixture into a greased 9×13″ glass baking dish.
In a separate bowl place softened cream cheese and remaining two eggs.
Add powdered sugar.
Beat ingredients with an electric mixer until smooth.
Spread crust layer with cream cheese layer.
Sprinkle Heath English Toffee Bits evenly over top.
Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes, or until set.
Cut into squares and serve!
For easier cutting, refrigerate bars for a few hours before cutting.
Heath Toffee Ooey Gooey Bars are marvelous treats for tailgating parties or backyard barbecues.
I recommend baking these goodies up for Christmas Cookie Exchanges and holiday baking too!
