Beefy Taco Dip
Gluten Free Living – 2024
We served this Beefy Taco Dip for company back in early March and we all loved it! I ate gobs and gobs of this delicious stuff. Whether you serve it with Fritos, Tortilla Chips or Nacho Cheese Doritos, this fantastic appetizer is spectacular for any kind of party. It’s made with several layers including a cream cheese layer, a ground beef layer and then it’s layered with lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, bell pepper and cheddar cheese. It’s so, so satisfying.

We had a few friends from church over for dinner the first weekend in March. I decided on a Tex-Mex themed night and made a Spicy Nacho Bake for the main dish. I added a Southwestern Layered Salad, an East Texas Mexican Cornbread, my favorite Chunky Homemade Guacamole, a Chunky Maple Applesauce and this Beefy Taco Dip as an appetizer. Others brought desserts and appetizers as well. It was a feast and while we enjoyed everything, this Beefy Taco Dip was certainly a favorite.
Because I had so many things to make that day, I made up the whole appetizer ahead and added the lettuce, tomatoes and other toppings right away, rather than adding them last minute before serving. I didn’t think it lessened the effect or taste of the appetizer and it sure made it easier for me to not have to worry about adding and chopping things when I’m trying to get other hot dishes ready.
If you enjoy Tex-Mex appetizers, Beefy Taco Dip is sure to please. While the recipe does have several steps, this is an excellent option for tailgating parties, potlucks and anytime you have company over for dinner. It makes up a lot so it’s great for a crowd. Enjoy.
Beefy Taco Dip is sensational!
We served it with Fritos, Tortilla Chips and Nacho Cheese Doritos.
This is actually a very hearty Tex-Mex dip. It’s almost like eating a meal!
Every bite is sensational!
Here’s what I did.
I used these ingredients. I also served it with Fritos and Nacho Cheese Doritos, but you can use whatever chips you wish to serve it with. The bowl contains Homemade Taco Seasoning.
Place ground beef in a Dutch oven or skillet.
Cook over medium heat. Use a hamburger chopper to break the meat up into small pieces while frying.
Continue frying until beef is no longer pink.
Add Taco Seasoning and a small can of tomato sauce.
Stir ingredients to combine; heat through about 5 minutes. Set aside.
In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise.
Beat with an electric mixer to combine well, or stir until very well combined.
Spread cream cheese mixture into a round on a serving plate; leave at least a two-inch border for chips. Refrigerate one hour.
Spread cooled beef mixture over top of the cream cheese layer.
Add Taco Cheese blend over top of the meat layer.
Chop up tomatoes, green onions and green bell pepper.
Add shredded lettuce and a layer of tomatoes.
Add a layer of green onions and a layer of green bell peppers. Place tortilla chips around the edge of the serving platter.
Serve immediately. Or, if you are preparing this in advance, leave off the chips until just before serving. Cover the plate with plastic wrap and refrigerate a few hours, if necessary, until serving.
Beefy Taco Dip is terrific served with Fritos, Tortilla Chips or Nacho Cheese Doritos.
Because this appetizer is so filling, you can get a lot of servings out of it.
We love Tex-Mex appetizers, and this one’s a doozy!
Every bite will rock your world!
Here’s the recipe.
