Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie

Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie is sensational. This luscious pie uses only five ingredients! It's quick, super easy and a delightful dessert for company, holiday or even weeknight dinners. Reese's peanut butter cups make everything better! This chocolaty pie will be a hit whenever you serve it.

Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • measuring cups
  • 1 sharp knife to cut Peanut Butter Cups
  • 1 whisk

Ingredients
  

  • 9 oz. pkg. Reese's peanut butter cups (6 - 1.5-oz. pkgs.
  • 1 cup half-and-half (or cold whole milk)
  • 3.9 oz. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix (dry)
  • 8 oz. container frozen non-dairy whipped topping thawed
  • 9 inch chocolate crumb crust (8-inches)

Instructions
 

  • Cut four peanut butter cups in half; set aside.
  • Coarsely chop the remaining peanut butter cups; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk half and half and chocolate pudding for two minutes.
  • Mixture will be very thick.
  • Whisk in whipped topping until well blended.
  • Add chopped peanut butter cups and fold in with a wooden spoon.
  • Spoon mixture into chocolate crumb crust.
  • Arrange halved peanut butter cups around the perimeter of the pie.
  • Freeze pie for several hours or overnight before cutting into servings.
  • Remove from freezer 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

NOTE: The original recipe said to refrigerate this pie for 15 minutes before serving. I refrigerated this pie for about 8 hours before cutting into it. It was still a little too soupy. I recommend putting this dessert in the freezer for a minimum of an hour before cutting and serving.
