My Mom's homemade Raspberry Pie is sensational! This fantastic pie recipe is perfect for company or holiday dinners like Christmas or Valentine's Day. It bakes up into an elegant and festive dessert even though this is a down-home old-fashioned recipe. Be warned: Raspberry Pie is addictive. You'll want more than one slice!
2 tbsp.unsalted butter(I used two tablespoons but I usually use three)
1plain pastry pie shell(or homemade pie crust)
Instructions
Combine raspberries, granulated sugar and flour.
Meanwhile, make up pie crust.
Place dough into pie shell.
Flute edges.
Dot the pie crust evenly with butter.
Add raspberry filling.
Place lattice crust over top of berries.
Bake at 350° for about 1 ½ hours or until the syrup that comes up through the lattice crust is thickened.
Notes
NOTE: Preparation time does not include making Homemade Pie Crust.NOTE: The lattice crust must be ready to place on top of the raspberries before filling the pie. If the filling stays in the crust too long before baking, the crust will get soggy.NOTE: If your oven starts browning the crust too much, tent the pie with foil.
