Equipment

  • 2 18x26" cookie sheet pans
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 sharp knife to chop Twix bars
  • 1 1/4 cup cookie scoop
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened (2 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar firmly packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 1/2 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 3 cups Twix Candy Bars chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Grease or spray large cookie sheets with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, combine butter, sugars, vanilla, eggs, salt and baking soda.
  • Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy.
  • Stir in flour and Twix Candy bars with a wooden spoon until well combined.
  • Keep stirring! This may take 4-5 minutes.
  • Scoop dough with a one-quarter cup cookie scoop and place on prepared cookie sheets.
  • (Be sure to pack the dough into the cookie scoop).
  • Bake for 13-15 minutes at 350 degrees, or until lightly browned.
  • Rotate cookies on racks every six minutes through cooking time.
  • Let cookies cool in pan for 5 minutes.
  • Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

NOTE: These are also good baked as brownies. Spread into a 10x15” cookie sheet and bake about 30 minutes at 350°.

NOTE: Twix Candy Bars contain a lot of oil and caramel. In order to prevent the cookies from running in the pan, I had to decrease the original amount of the butter. It may seem like the cookie mixture has too much flour, but you will need that much flour to absorb all of the oil from the candies while baking.

NOTE: I was baking three racks of cookies at a time. I rotated the cookie sheets on racks every six minutes. My cookies took about 18-20 minutes to bake.
