Equipment

  • 1 microwave oven
  • 1 sauce pan
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 whisk

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz. pkg. frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp. flour I used unbleached flour
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. Tony's Creole Seasoning as desired
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions
 

  • Microwave peas over high heat about 5 minutes.
  • Drain, if necessary.
  • Set aside.
  • Make a white sauce by melting butter in a saucepan.
  • Stir or whisk in flour, salt, pepper and Tony’s Creole seasoning.
  • Add half-and-half slowly until ingredients are incorporated and you have a medium white sauce.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese and melt.
  • Add the peas and heat through.
