Whole Wheat Parsley Herb Bread is absolutely scrumptious. This savory and delicious dinner bread is great to use with dipping oils and herbs. Add it as a side to your favorite Italian or pasta dish. Or, add butter and preserves and serve it for breakfast. It is one of those recipes you just can't put down. This healthy breadmaker bread makes a two-pound loaf.
1 pastry brush to butter bread after it's finished baking
1 electric knife preferred, or a sharp bread knife to slice bread
Ingredients
1 1/2cupswater
3tbsp.powdered milk
3tbsp.olive oil
3tbsp.honey
1 1/2tsp.salt
2cupsbread flour
2cupswhole wheat flour
1heaping tablespoondried parsley
1 1/2tsp.dried rosemary
1 1/2tsp.dried thyme
2tsp.bread machine yeast
4tsp.vital wheat gluten
Instructions
Measure ingredients in the order listed into bread-maker baking pan.
(You will need one the size for a 2-lb. loaf).
Bake on whole wheat setting.
Allow bread to cool 15 minutes before removing from breadmaker.
Brush tops and sides of bread with butter to prevent crust from hardening.
Allow bread to cool 15 minutes longer before slicing down.
Notes
NOTE: Home made bread has no preservatives, so after two days you need to refrigerate the bread to prevent mold.NOTE: all-purpose flour does not contain the necessary gluten to bond the ingredients together as well as bread flour. The bread may turn out crumbly. For best results use bread flour.NOTE: I recommend using Fleischmann's yeast or bread machine yeast in any yeast bread recipe. Red Star yeast just doesn't work as well.
