Chocolate Chip Cake will have you swooning from the first bite! This scrumptious triple chocolate cake has triple the chocolaty flavor! It uses chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding mix and chocolate chips. Then it's drizzled with a luscious, chocolaty frosting on top. Oh my! This favorite Chocolate Cake recipe is sensational served with either ice cream or whipped topping and maraschino cherries.
2small boxesinstant chocolate pudding mixor one large box
4largeeggs
1 1/2cupswateror you can use half-and-half or whole milk
1/2cupcanola oilor either coconut oil or avocado oil
12oz. bagchocolate chips
1tsp.vanilla extract
2tbsp.Powdered sugar for garnish (if you prefer this topping over a chocolate icing)
CHOCOLATE ICING:
1cuppowdered sugar
2tbsp.unsalted buttersoftened
1tsp.vanilla extract
1 1/2 to 2tsp.water
2heaping tablespoonfulscocoa
Instructions
CAKE:
Mix everything together in large bowl.
Pour into greased and floured bundt pan and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes at 350°, or until knife or a bamboo skewer inserted in center comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool completely before inverting onto plate.
CHOCOLATE ICING:
Whisk ingredients with a whisk.
Add only as much water as needed to get ingredients to spreading consistency.
Drizzle Chocolate Icing over cooled cake.
Allow icing to set about 15-30 minutes before covering with plastic wrap.

NOTE: I substitute whole milk or half-and-half for the water in the recipe for a richer cake texture.
