Equipment

  • 1 blender or food processor
  • 1 sharp knife to cut vegetables
  • measuring spoons
  • measuring cups

Ingredients

  • 60 oz. can whole peeled tomatoes including juice or two 29-ounce cans
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 or 2 fresh jalapeno peppers seeded and sliced (add heat as desired)
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro
  • 1/2 to 3/4 tsp. garlic salt or more to taste

Instructions

  • Put all ingredients in blender and mix for a very short time—only until all the ingredients have been combined.
  • Taste and then add anything as needed.
  • Makes about 2 quarts salsa.

Notes

Number one rule: it is always easier to add to than to take away! All amounts of ingredients depend on taste.

NOTE: Start with one seeded jalapeno pepper. If you want more heat, add additional jalapeno.  (Start with half and continue adding as desired). If you really like extremely HOT salsa, leave some of the seeds in the mixture.
