Candied Sweet Potatoes

Candied Sweet Potatoes are out favorite way to serve sweet potatoes. This delicious three-ingredient vintage sweet potato recipe is great to serve with pork, ham, and turkey. This is a traditional Thanksgiving side dish that everyone will enjoy and is so easy to prepare.

1 roasting pan to bake the sweet potatoes
1 large skillet with lid, preferred
1 sharp knife to cut the sweet potatoes
1 spatula

8 large sweet potatoes partially baked 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick) 1/2 cup brown sugar packed, or more, if desired
Bake sweet potatoes about 45 minutes at 350.
Remove from oven and peel.
Cut potatoes in large chunks or one-half-inch slices, if preferred
Melt butter in cast-iron skillet or other skillet over low to medium heat.
Add sweet potatoes; sprinkle with brown sugar.
Sauté sweet potatoes in sauce over low heat.
Turn over sweet potatoes with spatula frequently to coat sweet potatoes with candy glaze.
Cook about 15-20 minutes until potatoes are well-glazed.
NOTE: You can cover the skillet with a lid part of the cooking time to ensure the potatoes finish cooking all the way through.
