Peanut Butter Chip Oatmeal Cookies are mouthwatering, irresistible and so delicious you won't be able to stop eating them!   • 3 18x26" cookie sheet pans
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 nut chopper if nuts are not previously chopped
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 spatula
  • 2 wire cooling racks

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup Crisco shortening NO substitutes
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods
  • 1/2 cup walnuts finely chopped (measure after chopping)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 tbsp. 2% milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal (preferred over quick oats)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 12 oz. pkg. peanut butter chips

Instructions
 

  • Heat oven to 375°.
  • Mix brown sugar, butter, shortening, milk, vanilla and egg with an electric mixer until well blended.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients with a wooden spoon until well combined.
  • Roll dough into golf-ball-sized balls and place about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets.
  • Bake until light brown, 10-12 minutes for soft cookies, 12-14 minutes for crisp cookies.
  • Rotate cookie sheets on oven racks after seven minutes of baking time.
  • Store tightly covered.

Notes

NOTE: You may have to keep your hands moist while rolling dough if dough sticks to your fingers too much.
