Soft Molasses Sandwich Cookies are outstanding. These scrumptious cookies are super rich, decadent and divine! This luscious tasting molasses cookie is made with ready-to-spread vanilla icing in the middle. Every bite will rock your world!
2/3cupsour milkadd 1 ½ tbsp. white vinegar to 2/3 cup milk and let stand for 5-10 minutes
1containervanilla ready-to-spread frosting
Instructions
Cream shortening, sugars, egg, molasses, vanilla, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves and soured milk in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer until smooth.
Stir in flour with a wooden spoon until very well combined.
Roll cookie dough into balls and place onto greased baking sheets or baking sheets sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes.
Rotate cookie sheets on oven racks half way through baking time.
Cool completely.
FOR SANDWICH COOKIES: Spread a few tablespoonfuls of vanilla ready-to-spread frosting on the bottom of a cookie.
Press another cookie of similar size and shape on top of the icing to form a sandwich.
