Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or griddle
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 spatula
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6-8 slices Cinnabon bread
  • 1 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar as garnish
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup as garnish

Instructions

  • Heat griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  • Add a little butter and cover the surface of the pan.
  • Crack eggs into a medium sized bowl and whisk until beaten.
  • Stir in milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  • Dip bread slices into custard and submerge for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Lift bread out very carefully with both hands so it doesn’t tear.
  • Place in skillet or griddle.
  • Cook about 3-5 minutes on each side until bread becomes a golden brown.
  • Flip bread over with spatula and cook the other side about 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat.

Notes

NOTE: Be extremely careful lifting the bread after dipping it in the custard. It is very fragile and will tear easily.
