Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp is so refreshing and mouthwatering. This fabulous apple recipe has a wonderful streusel topping. It's quick and easy to make and is great served for either breakfast or dessert. Substitute gluten free flour if you want to make this gluten free. If you enjoy apple desserts, this one will have you swooning from the first bite!

APPLE FILLING 3 cans apple pie filling or 3 or 4 cans fried apples 1 cup granulated sugar 1 heaping tablespoon UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 cup water STREUSEL TOPPING: 1 cup oatmeal 1 cup UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour 1 cup light brown sugar packed 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
APPLE FILLING: Preheat oven to 350°.
Mix apple pie filling, granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl and pour into a greased or sprayed 9x13” baking dish.
Pour water evenly over all.
STREUSEL TOPPING: Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter.
Crumble evenly over apple mixture.
Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes.
NOTE: The original recipe called for 10 cups of thinly sliced apples. So you can use fresh apples if you wish.
