M&M Toffee Brownies

These delectable brownies will knock your socks off! Absolutely scrumptious dessert filled with M&M's, Heath English Toffee Bits, pecans and coconut. Perfect for tailgating parties, potlucks, backyard barbecues and summer holiday fun like Fourth of July or Labor Day picnics.

Equipment

  • 1 10x15" glass baking dish
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 nut chopper if nuts are not previously chopped

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt or kosher salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened (2 sticks)
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups M&M candies divided use
  • 8 oz. bag Heath English toffee bits
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped (measure after chopping)
  • 1 cup coconut

Instructions
 

  • Mix butter, both sugars, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, baking powder, and salt with an electric mixer until creamy.
  • Stir in flour, 1 cup M&Ms, all of the Heath English Toffee Bits, pecans and coconut; mix again until well combined.
  • Spray a 10x15” baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Spread mixture into prepared dish.
  • Sprinkle another cup of M&Ms on top of the dough.
  • Bake about 40 minutes at 350°, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Cool. Cut into bars.

Notes

NOTE: You may find these brownies easier to cut if you refrigerate them a couple of hours first.
