This quick and easy side dish makes green beans pop with flavor. It's a great complement to any kind of meat or fish. Also wonderful for week night, company or holiday dinners. Green Beans Amandine is healthy, low calorie, gluten free and vegan.

Equipment

  • 1 sauce pan with lid
  • 1 sharp knife to cut the tips off the beans
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 medium skillet
  • 1 serving bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. fresh or frozen green beans washed and tips removed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup almonds slivered
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt optional

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, bring beans and water to a boil; reduce heat to medium.
  • Cover and cook beans for 10-15 minutes or until beans are fork tender; drain and set aside.
  • In a medium skillet, saute almonds in olive or avocado oil over low heat until lightly browned.
  • Place green beans in serving bowl.
  • Add sautéed almonds, lemon juice and seasoned salt and stir to combine.
  • Serve.
