Cream Cheese Danish Pastry

Cream Cheese Danish Pastry is awesome! This is a wonderful brunch idea and so easy to whip up for weekend, company or holiday breakfasts. The pastry uses crescent rolls for the crust and topping with a luscious cream cheese layer in between and powdered sugar icing on top. Prepare to swoon after one bite of this delicious pastry.

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch glass baking dish
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 small mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 1 large egg divided use
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 to 3 tbsp. 2% milk

Instructions
 

  • Grease or spray 9x13” pan.
  • Unfold 1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls and spread onto the bottom of 9x13” pan.
  • Separate egg yolk and white; set aside.
  • Mix cream cheese, egg yolk, vanilla, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer.
  • Pour onto crescent roll crust.
  • Unfold the other can of refrigerated crescent rolls and layer it over the creamed mixture.
  • Beat egg white stiff in a small bowl with an electric mixer and spread it over top layer of roll dough.
  • Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Mix powdered sugar and milk in another small mixing bowl with a whisk.
  • Spread icing over top of Danish while still warm.
