Blueberry Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls

This fantastic down-home vintage recipe is just what you need to tantalize your taste buds. You'll enjoy a scrumptious breakfast item that's terrific for a weekend breakfast or brunch. They're wonderful to serve for tailgating parties or when company is coming for breakfast (or dinner!)

Equipment

  • 1 or 2 large cookie sheet pans
  • waxed paper to roll out the pie crust
  • 1 table knife or spreader
  • 1 spoon
  • 1 small bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 3 single layer pie crusts rolled out
  • 9 tbsp. salted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 16 oz. blueberry preserves

Instructions
 

  • Roll out pie crusts.
  • Spread 3 tablespoonfuls of butter over each crust, leaving about a ½ to 1 inch border.
  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Sprinkle 3 to 4 tablespoons cinnamon sugar mixture over top of the butter on each crust.
  • Spread dabs of preserves over the top of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • (About 5 1/3-ounces over each crust).
  • Roll up very gently to avoid tearing the crust.
  • Crimp edges.
  • Place cinnamon rolls on one or two large cookie sheet pans.
  • Avoid overcrowding.
  • Place each roll at least 3 inches apart.
  • Bake at 300º for about 30-40 minutes until crust is cooked and lightly golden brown.
  • Yield: 30 slices.
