Broccoli Cheese Squares is a recipe that's loaded with cheesy goodness! This irresistible side dish is perfect for holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. 20oz. pkg.frozen chopped broccolicooked and drained (two 10-ounce packages)
2tbsp.onionchopped
Instructions
Melt butter in a 9x13” baking dish.
Tilt the dish to coat the entire bottom surface of the pan.
Set aside.
Meanwhile, beat eggs in a mixing bowl with a whisk.
Add milk, flour, salt and baking powder.
Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
Stir in cheese, broccoli and onion.
Spoon ingredients into buttered baking dish.
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees until mixture is set, about 30-35 minutes.
Cut into squares.
Notes
NOTE: The original recipe called for 2 12-oz. pkgs. cheddar cheese. That is way too much cheese. I cut the recipe down to 2 8-oz. pkgs. cheese and felt like one 8-oz. pkg. sharp cheddar cheese would have been sufficient for this recipe.
