Creamy Sweet Peas
Teresa Ambra
Creamy Sweet Peas are utterly delightful. This is a terrific side dish for week night dinners when you're pressed for time since the dish can be whipped up in about 10 minutes. It also makes for a wonderful side for company or holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. This gluten free recipe is a marvelous and delicious way to introduce your kids to peas!

36 oz. frozen peas thawed 1/2 tsp. Salt and pepper to taste 1 tsp. granulated sugar 4 tbsp. unsalted butter 4 oz. block cream cheese cut in cubes 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
In a saucepan, melt butter and cream cheese; use a whisk and stir frequently.
Add the peas, granulated sugar, salt and pepper.
Stir frequently with a wooden spoon so all the ingredients blend well together.
Cook over low heat until peas are hot.
This will take 5-10 minutes.
Add the whipping cream and stir thoroughly.
NOTE: I have used either half-and-half or heavy whipping cream. Although my personal preference is heavy whipping cream.
