Double Chocolate Macadamia Brownies

These brownies are double delectable! They use two bags of chocolate chips. One is melted and the other is added to the batter and on top along with macadamia nuts. Rich, decadent, drool-worthy!

1 1/2 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods) 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 2 cups granulated sugar 2/3 cup unsalted butter 4 tbsp. water (1/4 cup 2 tsp. vanilla extract 4 large eggs 2 12-oz. bags chocolate chips 1/2 cup macadamia nuts chopped 1/3 cup macadamia nuts chopped, for topping Preheat oven to 350°.
In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In a medium-sized saucepan over low to medium heat, combine butter, granulated sugar and water.
Bring just to a boil; remove from heat.
Stir in one bag chocolate chips and vanilla extract.
Cool slightly.
Pour chocolate mixture into a large mixing bowl.
Add eggs and whisk to incorporate.
Add flour mixture, one bag chocolate chips and 1/2 cup macadamia nuts.
Stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
Pour mixture into a greased 10x15” glass baking dish.
Sprinkle remaining ½ cup chocolate chips and 1/3 cup chopped macadamia nuts on top.
Bake at 350° for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool before cutting into bars.
NOTE: Walnuts or pecans can be substituted for macadamia nuts.
