Green Beans Amandine

This quick and easy side dish makes green beans pop with flavor. Green Beans Amandine is healthy, low calorie, gluten free and vegan.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. fresh or frozen green beans washed and tips removed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. seasoned salt optional

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, bring beans and water to a boil; reduce heat to medium.
  • Cover and cook beans for 10-15 minutes or until beans are fork tender; drain and set aside.
  • In a medium skillet, saute almonds in olive or canola oil over low heat until lightly browned.
  • Place green beans in serving bowl.
  • Add sautéed almonds, lemon juice and seasoned salt and stir to combine.
  • Serve.
