Grilled Chicken Thighs with Onions

You'll be captivated by this sumptuous Grilled Chicken Thighs with Onions entree. Vidalia Onions are sautéed until almost caramelized and spread over top of the deliciously seasoned Grilled Chicken Thighs. It's the perfect dish for weeknight suppers or for company dinners. Equipment

  • 1 gas grill or charcoal or electric grill
  • 1 plate
  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 sharp knife to slice onions and mince garlic
  • 1 cutting board
  • measuring spoons

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium Vidalia onions or sweet onions
  • 1 tsp. garlic finely minced
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 3/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. salted butter
  • 10 medium chicken thighs
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt or as desired
  • 1 tsp. paprika or as desired
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning or as desired

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the onions, garlic and salt and pepper in oil and butter mixture.
  • Cook and stir frequently about 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, season chicken thighs with garlic salt, paprika and Italian seasoning.
  • Grill chicken thighs on gas grill over medium heat until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165º.
  • (Approximately 10-12 minutes per side for medium heat).
  • Remove chicken thighs to a serving platter.
  • Garnish with sauteed onions.
  • Serve.
