Hamburger Stroganoff

Hamburger Stroganoff is a scrumptious vintage recipe that our family has enjoyed for decades. This wonderful, kid-friendly pasta recipe uses hamburger meat instead of beef roast to make the stroganoff. Serve over hot, cooked noodles. This quick and easy recipe can be made in about 30 minutes making it perfect for weeknight dinners -- especially when you're short on time.

1 large sauce pan
1 wooden spoon
1 stock pot with lid to cook noodles
1 colander
1 hamburger chopper to cut meat into small pieces while frying
1 sharp knife to cut vegetables
1 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion chopped 1/4 cup unsalted butter 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. garlic salt or 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper 8 oz. can mushroom stems and pieces drained 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 cup sour cream 2 cups hot cooked noodles 1 tsp. Snipped parsley if desired
In large skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion in butter until onion is tender.
Use a hamburger chopper to break meat up into very tiny pieces while frying.
Stir in flour, salt, garlic salt, pepper and mushrooms; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Stir in soup; simmer uncovered 10 minutes.
Stir in sour cream; heat through.
Cook noodles according to package directions.
Drain in colander.
Serve stroganoff over noodles.
Sprinkle with snipped parsley (or dried parsley).
