Orange Creamsicle Cookies

These luscious cookies are made with orange zest and white chocolate chips which provide fabulous flavors for any party or holiday baking. These cookies are also excellent with vanilla chips.

2 1/2 cups Gold Medal UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods 3/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup unsalted butter softened (2 sticks) 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed 1 large egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 tbsp. orange zest 2 cups white chocolate chips you can also use vanilla chips
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large bowl, cream butter, sugars, egg, vanilla, baking soda, salt, and orange zest until smooth and creamy.
Add flour and white chocolate chips and stir into batter with a wooden spoon.
Don’t mix with a mixer or cookies will be tough.
Roll into balls and place on cookie sheets that have been sprayed with cooking spray.
Do not flatten cookies; it will make them dry.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown around edges.
Do not overcook! Cookies will be plump.
Cool for several minutes on cookie sheets before transferring to rack to cool completely.
Store in airtight container.
NOTE: My cookies took 15 minutes to bake.
