Cracked Peach Cookies are outrageously good! These fabulous cookies combine the best of Sugar Cookies with fresh peaches. They make a scrumptious treat for summer holiday fun, backyard barbecues and grilling out with friends.

Equipment

  • 2 18x26" cookie sheet pans
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 wooden spoon
  • 1 sharp knife to peel and pare peaches
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • 1 spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 4 cups UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour bleached flour toughens baked goods
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 cups peaches peeled and diced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
  • Cream together sugar, butter, egg yolks, baking soda, cream of tartar and vanilla.
  • Add flour and peaches and stir with a wooden spoon until combined.
  • Form dough into walnut size balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.
  • Don't flatten.
  • Bake about 15-20 minutes, until set.
  • Rotate cookie sheets on oven racks every seven minutes while baking.
