Super Sloppy Joes

These delicious Sloppy Joes are absolutely mouthwatering. This recipe is quick and easy and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 2 ribs celery chopped
  • 1/4 cup Chopped green pepper
  • 14.5 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar packed
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp. steak sauce (I used A-1)
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 3/4 tsp. chili powder
  • 8-10 hamburger buns split (or use specialty hoagie rolls, onion rolls or ciabatta buns)

Instructions
 

  • In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook beef, onion, celery and green pepper until the meat is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender; drain.
  • Add the next ten ingredients; mix well.
  • Simmer, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Spoon a ½ cup of meat mixture onto each bun.

Notes

NOTE: I added chili powder because my son wanted it spicier.
