2 large eggs 1/2 cup UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods) 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled slightly (2 sticks) 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 cup walnuts chopped (measure after chopping) 1/2 cup brown sugar packed 1 unbaked pie shell
Preheat oven to 325°.
In large bowl, beat eggs until foamy; this will take 3-5 minutes.
Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar until well-blended.
Blend in the cooled, melted butter.
Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Pour into pie shell.
Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
NOTE: The melted butter needs to cool sufficiently that the chocolate chips don’t melt when you stir them into the batter.
