Easy Peach Cobbler

Teresa Ambra

We love Easy Peach Cobbler! Ever since I was a young child, mom used to make Peach Cobblers and Peach Pies often. I loved it all. And with our bumper crop of peaches from our six peach trees out back, it looks like I’m going to be making tons of peach desserts over the next week or so.

Follow Me On Instagram!

I have about ten to fifteen more peach recipes to post up after this one and still several more I’m going to make over the next week. I’ve made peach cookies, peach bars, peach cakes, peach muffins and peach cobblers. All are so yummy and excellent ways to use up our abundance of peaches.

This particular cobbler really is easy and tastes wonderful. I served it for dinner a couple of weeks ago when we had company over. Some friends from our church came over for dinner and then we all went out to a movie afterwards. I actually served two cobblers that night since John had picked the early peaches that week. He got the rest of them off the trees yesterday. I think the birds and the squirrels got about 50% of our crop and we still have bushels and bushels of peaches!

I found this recipe in a cookbook several years ago when we were staying with friends in Ridgecrest, North Carolina. I copied it down and taped it into my large binders that contain tons of recipes. I finally got around to making it this year since I’m trying to finds lots of ways to use up peaches.

For this recipe, you start by melting butter in a baking dish. Then you stir some dry ingredients with milk and pour gently over the top of the melted butter without stirring. The peaches are brought to a boil with cinnamon and lemon juice.

When the peaches have thickened they are spread over top of the batter in the pan–again WITHOUT stirring anything. Then the whole thing is baked in the oven and while the cobbler is baking the flavors and textures mix together wonderfully.

If you’re looking for a tasty cobbler recipe, this Easy Peach Cobbler is wonderful–served plain or with ice cream. Each mouthful is spectacular. Your family will love it. If you want to enjoy some peaches in a new, fresh way, then try this recipe out during peach season. You could probably also make this with canned peaches if you desire but fresh peaches are the way to go if you can get them. Bon Appetit.

This Peach Cobbler is really easy to make. You layer the ingredients in the baking dish without stirring, but everything mixes together once the cobbler is baked.
