Apricot Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls

Apricot Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls are glorious! You start with a simple Homemade Pie Crust recipe. You spread butter over the crust, then top it with dabs of Apricot Preserves. Sometimes I soften the jelly in the microwave a little to make it more spreadable. Then you sprinkle the jelly with a cinnamon-sugar mixture before rolling up and baking the dough. Once the dough cooks and cools you can cut the rolls down into slices. One bite and you realize the roll just dissolves into your mouth with an incredible, mouthwatering goodness. Apricot Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls are heavenly!

Mom used to make Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls for us every time she baked pies. My younger brothers and I would fight over who got it. We never thought of sharing back in those days! But the idea for putting jam in Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls actually came from Debbie Reno Pero when we lived in Massachusetts.

John’s boss had died from a massive heart attack and there was a huge funeral service afterwards. He had been the Executive Director for the Baptist Convention of New England. As a result there were people driving in from all six New England States, plus some from the surrounding states. A call had gone out to all the local Southern Baptist Churches to bring in food, food, and more food.

We had a gymnasium filled with tables of food. As I recall, Debbie brought a couple of different flavors of Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls including apple or apple butter, prune and fig, along with several pies. Those little pie crust desserts were awesome. I never forgot them.

These Apricot Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls are reminiscent of Debbie’s tasty desserts. Except for my mom, nobody ever baked better pies than Debbie. She used to make them all the time for parties and get-togethers we had. She, like my mom, could whip out a pie in nothing flat. She was an amazing cook and everyone in our church loved sampling all of Debbie’s homemade goodies.

Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls can be made with any kind of jams or preserves, homemade or store-bought. The basic measurements work universally and, although cinnamon may not work on every fruit, it does work on almost all of them! If you enjoy apricots or apricot-tasting desserts, you will love these delectable goodies.

I highly recommend them for almost any kind of party, family reunion, or just for afternoon snacks. Let me prepare you in advance. Everyone will want more than one! 🙂 So you may want to make up a couple of batches while you’re at it. On top of that they’re fantastic breakfast treats especially for weekend, company or holiday breakfasts.

This is also scrumptious as a finger food-type dessert. Apricot Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls will have your whole family salivating for sure. After rolling our your pie crust they are as simple as one-two-three to make. Everyone to whom we serve these delicious treats just raves over them. There’s just something about pie crust that everyone loves. We loved Apricot Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls and believe you will too if you give them a try.
